R10 – DDSC v Lang Lang

Lions far too strong for Drouin
On a crisp Saturday afternoon, it was time for Drouin to play the leagues run away leaders. This was a game that Drouin knew was going to be a tough.

The Reserves kicked the afternoon off in a very entertaining style of play with Drouin asking questions and taking the game to Sandown while at the same time, playing some good football. At half time the game was poised 50-50.

The second half was much like the first with both teams asking questions, moving the ball well however Sandown got the win 3-1. This was Drouin’s best performance this season.
The Senior’s game didn’t start as well as the reserves with Sandown on a mission putting pressure on Drouin right from the first whistle which forced an error from the Drouin backline. This was within 5 minutes going 1-0 down and that was the theme for the day. Sandown pressed and Drouin buckled. From a Drouin point this game was like watching a horror movie every part of the game Drouin was out shined by a very classy and powerful Sandown side.

Drouin Dragons versus Lang Lang
Under 6
The weather was turned down dramatically today with a -3 degree start the children were still hot and ready to go. We played two games today to make sure all kids were moving and no one was standing still. Everybody played exceptionally well and pass the ball to share it around when asked. Mila played her last game for the dragons today and finished on a high note with a handful of goals. The club would like to wish her well in her future soccer career. Coach’s award went to Lucy for giving it a red hot go and McDonald’s award went to Cal for encouraging team work and passing the ball around.

A good effort today by Drouin u 12’s in a game we had to win to keep up with the top four. Some really good goals by Tristan and a lovely long goal by Freya in the second half. Great too to see Raynor get his first for the season. Some pleasing midfield play from Cooper, Ethan and Isaac with longer passing evident in more forward runs, however clustering around the ball is still an issue. Definitely a confidence booster for our run to making the finals, well done Drouin 12’s in a good win and a fairly solid performance.
